The Azamgarh NIC-District Centre was established in 1989 at Azamgarh as a District Unit of National Inforamtics Centre.From beginning,it is nvolved in data collection,collation,computerization of different Government Departments.Data transmission to State Hqtr,National Hqtr etc. E-mail and Internet access facility is available for Govt. Officers.
NIC-Dist. Centre Staff:-
Most of the Districts, there are two technical officers well qualified in technical education are appointed i.e. District Informatics Officer and District Informatics Associate. DIO is incharge of all the activities of District Centre.
Infrastructure of NIC-Dist. Centre:-
This center is well equipped with latest e-mail, Internet facility having two Pentium computers, eight bilingual terminals, four LQ-1050+ Dot matrix printers, one 2KVA Uninterruptable powe supply, one air condition, one micro earth station assembled with antenna, Up an Down converter, one WX-PAD for giving NICNET facility to multiple users. IPA is going to be installed very soon for fast accessing of Ineternet.
Project Running Status:-
There are many projects National level, State level and District level are running at District Centre.
National level Projects:-
NWDPRA(National Watershed Development Programme for Rarefied Areas), FCI(Food Corporation of India), Land Record Computerisation, Jalnigam are running. Census-1991 data is available of Azamgarh District, data in various formats is provided to Dist. Administration, researchers as per their requirement. The data transmission to Newdelhi is done from here.
PACS(Primary Agriculture Co-operative Societies),TMS(Tubewell Monitoring System), Udyog Bandhu, Sankhya Patrika of current year of district and division level, Co-operative data transmission, Social welfare, 20-point monitoring system, Agriculture marketing daily data transmission etc. are running at distruct center. The progressive data transmission work to state headquarter, Lucknow is done.
District level Projects:-
Various dist. level projects are running at district center. These include-Arms
monitoring system, revenue collection, payroll of collectorate employees,
NIC-district center is providing day to day help and guidance in treasury computerization, district economic and statistical department, district court computerization, national sample survey organization etc. A computer center has been established independently in their department for the computerization.
The court cases of the Chief Revenue Officer has been computerized. The daily pendency and status report is maintained through computerization. By the computerization all types of report regarding court cases can be generated.
In easter Uttar pradesh, the NIC-district center, Azamgarh is playing a pivotal role in developing the stat-of the-art Information Technology in Azamgarh Division. The e-mail connectivity of various govt. department, conducting seminars on IT, people awareness programme for IT has to be conducted in future to enchance the awareness of Information Technology in Azamgarh Division.
